My favorite subject

Hello my little cupcakes!
For today I want to told you about my favorite subject. I have already talk about it in other post in this blog, but I never dedicate one only to that.
As you already know, I study Art History, and even If I'm going just in my second year I already have my favorite themes, but in this semester the one that I adore it was Colonial Art.
What we to in class is not really different in comparison to other subject that is focus in some art period (I guess what I like is the art itself with what work), in short words we studied how the syncretism is it present in the art, how the christian and native tradition mix together in harmony, his political use, the difference between the countries here in Latin America, how this make the christian representation in that period so different in comparison with other countries in the world, etc.
In class we basically work with images and the professor's explication, but I like that is almost just visual work, that is other reason why I like it. Is not just the significance of the study (the type of art of that time can tell us about their people and their culture, our history), is the big application of symbols, that is something that I found so beautiful.
